Hello Sharks! 

We have made it to our first swim meet of the season. We are fortunate that our first 2 meets are home meets so we have the home pool advantage! I have attached the meet entries by athlete along with the psych sheet (list of swimmers ordered by seed time) and the heat sheet (order of events with the heats and lanes). The heat sheet may have some minor changes come Saturday morning but it is to be trusted. 

Our warm ups are at 7:30am so please arrive no later than 7:10am. We will have only 25 minutes to warm up the entire team so please ensure that your swimmers are ready to enter the water on time. If this is your child's first swim meet, be prepared that there will be a lot going on in the beginning so come early to get your spot set up. The meet is expected to conclude before 11am. 

Each swim meet, in order to build community and support across the team we have a Big Shark Little Shark exchange. Every swimmer is assigned a partner for the season with the goal of developing a lasting relationship of mentoring/hype-person. The exchange is intended to be minimal. Your bag can include a drink, a snack, and a handmade card/poster. I have attached that list below as well. If your child's name is not on the list, please let me know.

There are still volunteer positions that are available! If the jobs are not filled, then there is a chance that you may be the lucky winner of a last minute job Saturday morning. 

Take a few minutes to discuss sportsmanship with your swimmer. It is necessary that they stay in the water after their race until every swimmer in the heat completed the race. It is common practice in swimming to congratulate the swimmers on either side of your lane with a celebratory handshake/fist bump/high five with a solid 'good race' or 'nice job'. 

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask. Us coaches are stoked with the progress and skills we have seen these first few weeks. We cannot wait to see our Sharks show out this season.
