Good evening Sharks!

Here we are on the eve of our first practice. I want to give a huge shoutout to Tess and Kaysha for creating a plan that gets us all pool time in the next couple weeks leading up to our first meet. I have attached a document that I created for my own brain (and maybe yours) that outlines the practice times for each group for this week and next.

We will be hosting a 30 minute dryland for 8&unders before practice this week. It is incredibly important for us coaches to have time to introduce ourselves, discuss technique, and set expectations before hopping into the pool. This is open to all 8&unders, even those swimming at Fair Oaks are welcome to join us on the nights they are not swimming. This will just be for dryland practice.

Since we only have a limited time in the pool, please have your swimmer in their bathing suit ready to go when they arrive. We can spend a few minutes getting caps and goggles but changing into suits will eat away at precious water time. Parents are welcome to sit in the stands at the Riva pool during practice time. We ask that you do not stand on deck. 

Swimmers are required to wear goggles and a cap if their hair falls in their face. It may take some adjustment for newer swimmers. To keep everyone safe, they must be able to see where they are going. If your swimmer has their own kickboard and fins, bring them to practice.

To those swimming at Fair Oaks this week, Tess has passed along the following information about parking and directions.

River Oaks is the townhome community across from Edgewater Elementary. From 2 South, turn left on Mayo Road then right onto Millhaven Drive. Follow Millhaven a short distance to a traffic circle, take the first exit onto Two Rivers Drive. You will see the pool on the left. The official address is 3700 Idle Creek Lane, but Google Maps can make using that address difficult to find. You may park in any open spot within the community. There is a locked gate on the left side of the pool clubhouse, and someone will meet you there to let you in, beginning at 6:15.
