Week 5 Info & Meet 2 Results
Happy Sunday Sharks! Happy Fathers Day to all the Shark dads.
We did it! One very smooth home meet is in the books! And, believe it or not, we’ve hit the halfway point of the season! I want to give all our swimmers a huge shoutout for the endless support and kindness we showed against Farmington Village. Their team rep came to compliment the encouragement from our team at clerk of course and in the pool so that warms my heart that we can share the love of swimming. I have attached the meet results and the Medal Meet qualifiers so far. To be eligible, swimmers must attend at least 2 dual meets. There are still 3 more chances to qualify! Here are some videos that can help swimmers (and parents) understand proper technique and the rules for disqualifications.

Ribbons from the meet have been placed in the box in the guard shack. The ribbon box will be out at practices, but you can ask a guard to bring the box out while you are enjoying time at the pool too.
Practice & Clinics: There will be “regular” morning practices for all age groups all week (the official schedule can be found on our Swimtopia team webpage, under “Practices”). Please try to arrive 5 minutes before the swimmers are supposed to jump in the water so they have time to get their caps and goggles on. There will be early morning clinics offered at 7am Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Bring $5 cash for a drop-in fee. This is not a general practice, please come with an idea of a specific skill or stroke you want to work on. This is a great time to work on details like starts and turns, or getting legal in a new stroke!

Meet #3: Entry is open and jobs are posted for our upcoming away meet, this Saturday, June 27th. We will be traveling to the Downs Devilrays pool, which is only 20 yards long, so get ready for some fast times!!
Please log-in to Swimtopia BEFORE WEDNESDAY AT NOON to declare your swimmer’s availability and sign up for a meet job and a Shark Shack donation. Once the meet line-up is compiled, we are unable to edit it, so please do not miss the Wednesday 12p deadline.
Swimathon on Saturday 6/27: We are still hoping to have all swimmers register for the Swimathon. Please register by Thursday 6/25 so we are able to assign lanes and times accurately. If you are unavailable on Saturday and would like to swim at a make-up time, reply to this email and we’ll get you on the list.
PRIZES ARE STARTING MONDAY!!! This year every registered swimmer gets a prize bag, each age group will have a daily winner for the top fundraiser, and grand prizes will be awarded to the top fundraiser AND the swimmer who does the most lengths in each age group. Lots of prizes!
Click here to access the google form you’ll need to register your swimmer(s): Swimathon Registration Once you’ve registered you’ll receive an email with additional information regarding the fundraising aspect.
Logos: If you would like to turn your plain suit into a suit with a logo, find Brittany Miller this week at practice. Logos to take home are $3, but she will heat press them on for you for another $2!!
Looking Ahead: Our 4th Meet is HOME against the Walden Green Wave. Because the meet will be Wednesday evening 7/1, our timeline between meets #3 and #4 will be very compressed. Meet declarations will be due Monday 6/29 at noon.
Thanks for being awesome! See you in the morning.
